Now that we have your attention!!   A bit more important information regarding the Championship Sunday!!  But read all the way down as there REALLY will be FREE Blue Bombers tickets!!

There is the WYFA final day volunteer sign up sheet posted outside of the canteen.  Your help is really needed this day!  If you can offer one hour (and it doesn`t have to be when your child is playing) that would great, if you can offer more - even better!! 

We have received confirmation that the Grey Cup will be at the Crocus Field at approxiamately 8:00AM.  This is to accomodate TEAM pictures for the TERMINATOR and ATOM teams ONLY!  If you would like to have a team picture please make sure you are at the field by 8:00.  REMEMBER your game STARTS AT 8:45AM!!!  We will take the team picture as quick as we can so to not take up time to warm up before the game.

**If you are not there when the team is called, there will be NO retakes**

The Grey Cup will then be back at Crocus at approx. 12:15pm to finish the Blue Bomber Ball Run.  We will then take the PEE WEE and BANTAM TEAM pictures before they open it up to individual pictures.  There will be no charge for team pictures for the kids.  Individual pictures will be $2.00 per picture.  This will be also open to the public so it could be a wait, please be patient!!

** Please make sure you are there as a TEAM as we will not be able to retake if you are late.**

There will be a draw at about 12:30pm for a pair of BLUE BOMBER SEASON TICKETS!!  You MUST be in attendance to WIN - no exceptions!!  This will also be open to the public.

Equipment handout will be right after your games, where once we have recieved all of the childs equipment, they will then get thier pictures and a ticket for a hotdog, drink and chips.  Please make sure you bring your child(ren) a change of clothes for that day.

 Now all we need is for Mother Nature to shine upon us that day!!! 

Just a reminder that WYFA Board meetings are held the 3rd Monday each month.  Tonight (June 17th), at 7 pm there will be a Board Meeting at Crocus Plains in the front office board room.

We have had several amazing donations for the Final Day Raffle so far!  If we can ask that all individual/team gift donations or monetary donations be into us by Thursday June 20th that would be greatly appreciated!!

We also would like to ask that all parents, friends and family please sit in the bleachers in the middle of both fields.  The bleachers on the East side of the main field are for players and coaches only.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

The dates and times for the playoffs and the Sunday Championship Day are listed below.  Please note the playoff games for the ATOM and PEE WEE will be played Tuesday and Thursday respectively. (see below for times)

Parents and Players please be aware of the following dates and times for the last week and final day.....

Tuesday June 18:

ATOMS will play their SEMI-FINAL game at 6:00pm

                  1st plays 4th                          2nd plays 3rd

Terminator practice 6:00-7:00   Pee Wee/Bantams practice 7:30 - 8:45

Thursday June 20:

Pee Wees will play their SEMI-FINAL game at 6:00

                   1st plays 4th                         2nd plays 3rd

Terminators and Atom practice at 6:00     Bantams practice 7:30 - 8:45

Sunday June 23 Championship Day:

8:45am-10:15am  Terminator  (team timesTBA)

8:45am-10:15am - Atom Finals (all teams)

10:30am-12:00pm - Pee Wee Finals (all teams)

approx at 12:15pm The Grey Cup will be arriving at Crocus Field

Team pictures with the Grey Cup - team times will be announced

1:30pm - Bantam 2 plays 3

2:30pm (approximately) Bantam Finals - 1 plays winner from the 1:30pm game. 

We are still working out all the details for the pictures with the Grey Cup for teams and individuals and if there will be any costs involved.  We will let you know once we get more information from the photographer.   

We will also have a volunteer sign up sheet at the canteen.  ANY and ALL help will be appreciated as this is a very busy day.  We are hoping to have volunteers from other age divisions work times that your kids are not playing in so we can all enjoy and watch our own kids.  Please see the canteen for the sign up sheet (should be up sometime at Tuesday practice)

Thanks and so far the forecast looks GREAT!!

For those that could not make the meeting today, here is a quick recap of what we covered.

1) If your child missed the first round of pictures, the final individual picture day will be this TUESDAY, JUNE 4 at 7:00pm.  Please make sure they have their game day jersey.  This will be for all age groups.  If you have NOT filled out a picture form I will have them at the field that day so you need to fill it out.

2) If you have ordered any of the clothing items we have them at the field.  Please find Michelle Mielke (parent rep) to pick them up.

3)  The final Championship day will be held on SUNDAY JUNE 23rd.  The reason being we will be part of the Blue Bomber Football Run that they are doing to promote the new stadium.  We are also making arrangements to have THE GREY CUP at our field!!  We are still working out all the details, including the times of the games so please be patient with us as we are working on this daily.  Once we have any details we will update you.

4)  The WYFA is also asking for each team to provide a basket/gifts donations for our year end auction.  If you or any business you know would like to donate to this it would be greatly appreciated.  I will have letters for donations at the field on Tuesday if anyone needs one.  If you have anything please let your team parent rep know or the league parent rep, Michelle Mielke.  Every little bit will help us make this an awesome day!!

On behalf of all the WYFA board members, we would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU for all the voluteers that have helped out in the canteen, 50/50, sticks and the other jobs.  Every bit helps make this one of the best sports out there and to be a part of!

Equipment handout has been completed.

Please be advised that if you need to exchange any equipment due to it being damaged or in disrepair, please see the volunteers at the C-Can and they can help you out.

All players are responsible to provide a PRACTICE jersey of some sort.  You can use an old hockey jersey, purchase a used football jersey or use Dad's old t-shirt if you want.  WYFA only provides GAME DAY jerseys - and we would ask that they are only worn on GAME DAY.

If you loose or misplace your mouthguard, a replacement one can be purchased at the Canteen for $2.  All players were given a mouthguard at equipment handout and mouthguards MUST be worn during practices and games.  If you loose it, you must buy a new one.

A positive player experience (for male/female youth) is our top priority!

The WYFA Executive would like to extend congratulations to former WYFA player Landon Rice on his signing a pro contract with the Hamilton Tigercats.  Great Job!.

Pee Wee & Bantam registration at Crocus Plains during practice from 6:30-8:30 Tuesday June 18 & Thursday June 20. $100 deposit due at registration.

The Majors (18-22 years old) start their season at home on August 10 and the Pee Wees (11-12 years old) and the Bantams (13-14 years old) start their seasons at the end of August.
